 I sleep easier when I'm doing the right thing. I think we all do. 

 That's why after much research and sampling and wearing the garments myself, I only use Bella & Canvas or Stanley/ Stella.

This means that every one of our tees that are produced are fair trade. They are either WRAP Certified (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) or GOTS accredited (Global Organic Textile Standard), the highest standard for the entire production chain. Suppliers treat their employees with dignity and respect, and are constantly aware of their environmental impact. A tough accreditation to receive; WRAP certifies its suppliers based on twelve principles which range from health and safety to environment to the prohibition of forced labour. 

While many companies produce enough waste to fill several swimming pools daily, our suppliers create almost no landfill, so everything that can’t be turned into a tee is either recycled or repurposed. Using less water than competitors in the process. Bella & Canvas for example, power their sewing floor and headquarters with solar energy generated from solar panels on their roof and provide electric car charging stations to encourage our employees to live as green as possible!

What makes KOKO Tees higher quality?

All of our products have side seams. Fit is very important to us, so even though it’s the more time-consuming and premium option, the garments are designed to fit the human body in the most flattering way.

Stanley/ Stella never uses standard cotton. Most of their clothing is made from 100% organic cotton.

Organic cotton is a natural, GMO-free fibre that uses less water than standard cotton. In addition, its production does not involve the use of chemicals (no fertilisers or pesticides) and encourages rotation of crops to keep soil healthier, more fertile and maintain humidity. Waste from the cotton ginning process is also recycled for the animal feed industry.

Four letters that change everything...

GOTS is the Global Organic Textile Standard label. The strictest certification for textiles made from organic fibres. GOTS tracks the entire chain of production from farm to factory: from harvesting of the cotton, weaving of fibres, assembly of items, to the final product before printing, including even the export of their clothing! It certifies that Stanley/Stella cotton is GMO-free and is grown without the use of chemicals and is processed and dyed without using any banned toxic substances.

GOTS also ensures compliance with the labour standards of the International Labour Organisation throughout the chain of production.

Their cellulose fibres are sourced exclusively from the Austrian manufacturer Lenzing, the first fibre manufacturer to have received the EU Ecolabel, which promotes environmental excellence.

Trust your clothes!

You can’t buy trust. It has to be earned. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certifies the absence of harmful chemical substances in all Stanley/Stella products thanks to the “Confidence in textile” label. An independent testing and certification system that ensures that all raw, semi-finished and finished textile products are processed in a way that prioritises:

- The precautionary principle, which prohibits certain potentially harmful substances even where they are not (yet) legally banned 

- The absence of chemical substances that are harmful to health and the environment 

- A restriction on the lead content of dyes

PETA certification

Animal lovers you may applaud now! 

Stanley/Stella is PETA certified. This means that they do not conduct or commission any animal tests on ingredients, formulations, or finished products and pledge never to do so. On top of this, their apparel is made from 100% vegan materials so you can be confident that no harm came to anyone during its creation.
